FC Barcelona to Host First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
